The Story Behind Boyd’s
Founded in 1959 by Irvin and Dolores Boyd, Boyd’s Antiques has specialized in early and unusual American and English furniture and accessories for more than sixty years.
Originally located in a Quaker Friends Meetinghouse outside of historic Philadelphia, Boyd’s has contributed to the history and culture of the surrounding community by offering unique pieces to customers and collectors throughout its existence. General George Washington rested his troops on the property where Boyd’s was originally located, before traveling onward to camp at Valley Forge.
After having studied under her parent’s tutelage for nearly thirty years, Priscilla Boyd Angelos took ownership of Boyd’s as a second-generation antique dealer in 1987. Priscilla has an exceptional skill for collecting unique period and country antiquities that appeal to a variety of aesthetics and consumer preferences.
Boyd’s prides itself in upholding long-standing relationships with customers, as Priscilla has often repurchased antiques from customers who bought them from her parents in the 1960’s, 1970’s and early 1980’s and are downsizing.
As Boyd’s sole proprietor, Priscilla catalyzed the business’ growth and maturation by relocating the brick and mortar store to the center of Flourtown, PA in 2015.
Priscilla’s devotion to her client relationships has allowed her to supply movie sets with merchandise, partner with decorators to furnish their client’s homes and educate new buyers on purchasing their first investment pieces. Dedicated to serving long-standing customers as well as engage with a younger generation of collectors, Priscilla shares Boyd’s one-of-a-kind Americana pieces by updating her inventory regularly and attending to personal inquiries daily.
